Movie Analysis- Article 15 (28 June 2019) Review Rating & Collection

Article 15 is a Hindi language crime drama movie crafted and directed by Anubhav Sinha. The idea of Article 15 is taken from Article 15 of Indian constitution that prohibits discrimination on basis of religion, race, caste, sex or place or birth. The movie is a joint production of Zee Studios and Benaras Media Works. The movie scenes are being prepared from March 2019 till mid-April 2019. After this the film will be released on 28 June 2019. The movie has been selected as the opening film for 10th edition of London Indian film festival premiered on recent 20 June 2019.

Ayushmann Khurrana, the protagonist, plays a role of police officer for the scenes. The story of the movie is based on a true incident and life events such as 2014 Badaun gang rape case and 2016 Una flogging incident. Let’s analyse the story line up and the cast efforts for the film-

•    Sayani Gupta as Gaura.

•    Kumud Mishra as Jatav.

•    Manoj Pahwa as Bhramadatt.

•    Nassar as Panicker.

•    Ronjini Chakraborty as Dr. Malti.

•    Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub as Nishad.

•    Ashish Verma as Mayank.

•    Sushil Pandey as Nihal Singh. 

These are the major cast of the movie along whom the whole movie revolves. The movie revolves majorly around the concept of Article 15. The movie story covers a total time of 2 hrs 11 mins for completion. Here is the crew that contributed for the completion of the movie from the backscreen.

Article 15 Movie Major Crew-

•    Anubhav Sinha – Director, producer, and writer.

•    Gaurav Solanki – Writer. 

•    Anurag Saikia and Mangesh Dhakde – Musicians.

These are the major crew members worked from backstage for the completion of the movie. The story line up presented is based on the socio-political situation of the country. Claiming the audience too to be an accused party Anubhav Sinha told that the movie needed an extraordinary actor like Khurrana for the Plot. The first look of the movie was launched by Khurrana on 6 march 2019 on twitter and later on 27 may 2019 first look of movie was out properly. Posters contains the release date of the movie along with a punch line as “farq bhot kar liya, ab farq laayenge”. This punch line empowers the character and make the audience look to the poster once. After this the trailer was attached to Salman’s movie Bharat and the jukebox was launched on 14 June.

Scenes of the movie are captured in Lucknow along with the news that the team entered in the swamp full of leeches to shoot a scene. Khurrana shared these pictures on twitter. 

Sreepama Sengupta of The Times of India gave 4 stars to the movie out of 5. Praising the work of crew and cast along with the sound tracks and recordings. Devesh Sharma reviewing for film fare rated the movie 4 out of 5 stars and Priyanka Sinha of CNN-News also praised the cast work and rated the movie same as other 4 out of 5 stars.

Anurag Saikia composed the movie songs who has composed earlier songs for movie Mulk. The total juke box of the movie timed as 26 min and 55 sec.

Overall the cast and crew are waiting and hoping for a good response from the audience as the movie is somewhere also representing some of social problems that can trigger the audience emotions.
