So you get on a plane or jump in a car for the longest trip in the world. You already know that WiFi is not available. So how can you watch Netflix movies and your favorite TV shows?
As it turns out, you can now use Netflix to download a lot of their content for offline viewing. So, you can bring your favorite TV shows for long trips and air travel.
Step 1: update first
First of all, you need to make sure your Netflix application is up to date. If you have not set your device to update automatically, just click the application in the iOS device app store (you need version 9.0 or newer) or do the same in the Google Play store for Android devices. If you want to use Netflix for Windows 10, select Save in the taskbar or Start menu, click the user icon, and select Downloads or Updates. Finally, select Check for updates and the Netflix application will start updating.
Step 2: Choose download quality
Netflix offers two levels of download quality: standard and high. The latter seems to be high resolution – somewhere between 720p and 1080p resolutions – although Netflix doesn’t specify it. Standards require less space on your device and allow faster content downloads, while High requires more space and patience. Which one you want to use depends on how much free space is available on your device and what type of device you are using. For example, standard mode looks great on your new cell phone, while higher resolutions are preferred over your tablet or laptop.
Select the menu icon on the left to select and scroll down to Application Settings. Click or tap Video Quality under the “Downloads” header and choose the quality you want. We will look more closely at how much storage Netflix will download later in this article.
Step 3: choose your best
Not everything on Netflix can be downloaded, but the company has made it easy to find titles that can be downloaded by placing them in a special area called “Downloaded”. To find this category, click or click the menu button in the upper left corner. This is the first option in the “Home” section. When you search for a specific title, the download icon, which is a down arrow with a horizontal line below, tells you whether the title can be downloaded.
Step 4: start download
To start downloading the title, select the download icon attached to the program or movie you want to watch. Here’s a quick tip for Android users: The Netflix application allows you to determine which locations you want to download. In the past, Netflix was the default storage device where the application is located. However, you can run a microSD card on your smartphone. The options menu will now show an option to set it as the default download location. To play an episode, just click or tap on the video thumbnail.
Step 5: see the track that you downloaded
After downloading, all Netflix content is displayed in the download area, which you can find using the menu button in the upper left corner of the application (or in the lower right navigation bar on a mobile device). The “My Downloads” folder is located directly above the “Home” section. In addition, the execution time of the title and the storage space used is also determined. To play an episode, just click or tap on the video thumbnail.
How much space do I need?
How much space is used depends on how long the title is and what resolution is downloaded. So you can find out the numbers, we have downloaded the first episode of Stranger Things and Netflix ‘The Ritual in high standards and quality.
Not all shows and movies on Netflix can be downloaded. This is because the network they have has requested not to be included in the list. However, there is a network that offers all content – Netflix. Every original Netflix that we meet is available for download, including Stranger Things, The Punisher and Orange Is the New Black.
Non-Netflix original titles at the time of writing included television shows such as Arrow, Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Colony, Survivor, Gray’s Anatomy and The Office. Downloadable films include Anon, Shiver: Cold Day in Hell, Bright, Imitative Games, Triple Border, Polar, Shrek Third, and Moon.
However, there are limits on how often you can download certain titles and how long you have to watch them. For example, you cannot download the same episode of Friends more than three times in one billing cycle. You must also monitor all users within one download month before it ends for offline viewing.
However, this is a good example. Sometimes you find movies or shows that can only be downloaded once because of the licensing agreement that Netflix has with the network it has. Such titles usually end in a week if you don’t notice them and disappear 48 hours after you reach the first.
